GVARC Meeting Minutes, July 11, 2018

President Rudy Sweisfurth, N7COP, called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm in the SAV meeting room. Rudy welcomed the 40 members including 3 visitors.

Rudy reported he is taking the office of President for the rest of the year. Dale Lang AA1SZ, resigned the first of July 2018 for personal reasons.

GVARC_1_cropped (14K) Gene W0KAD/sk equipment is for sale at this meeting. Tom K7VOA has been working on it cleaning it up and preparing for the sale. All proceeds go to the Green Valley Animal League, per Gene's wishes.

Rudy introduced the officers and asked for their reports:

Vice President Beetle Baily, K7GSB is also new taking Rudy's office as VP.

Secretary Jane Lang, AD7NR welcomed all and asked if anyone was interested in book EMP HOAX authored by our member David Hathaway. David donated a copy to club and a few members have read it. Neal KE7BTC asked to read it.

Rudy mentioned that there are other books for members to read and borrow and all are welcome to use the Club Station after getting in touch with Tom Lang, K7VOA, Club Station Manager. Hours are when the SAV is open.

Treasurer Bob Call, K7RWC reported we have 135 members and gave a financial report.

Club Station Manager and Special Events, Tom Lang, K7VOA reported that we came in #2 at Field Day. CW saved the day as the bands were lousy.

Jane Lang AD7NR was grateful for all the volunteers who brought food and water and coffee to Field Day, Kathy Kibby, Jim Otey, Barb Doehring and many many others.

Website Manager Jon Otto, AD7GS talked about using MailChimp with blast outs and contacts on webpage.

Technical Director Ron Phillips, AA7RP not present.

Emergency Communications Coordinator Norm Kibby, W5UJ not present.

GVARC_3_cropped (27K) Program Director Tom Smith, K7AFA who just took office, requests all members fill in GVARC survey form to collect information from club members to use their skills and talents to help other current or prospective club members in two areas:

Clark Mayo, KF7CM reported there might be 6 individuals ready to take Tech class in September.

Rudy asked for old and new business. None.

Rudy gave out 5 door prizes.

It was time for looking over Gene's items on the back table. Members bought most of them and the rest will be saved for an October SWAP.
