President Dale Lang, AA1SZ, called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm in the SAV meeting room. Dale welcomed the 54 members with guests. Chuck WD0EEA (a new member) and Jane Noah and Ric N0CN. Larry and Donna and Iris came specifically to hear our speaker Barry Webb. Katherine Godshall KI7QLU also became a member.
Road Cleanup is Saturday, February 17th. Watch for "blast outs" for more information.
Dale called upon the officers for their reports:
Vice President Rudy Sweisfurth, N7COP, discussed his proposal to have a door prize giveaway at each meeting.
Secretary, Jane Lang AD7NR, reminded all that our club has 2 social gatherings and 2 nets each week.
Treasurer Bob Call, K7RWC, gave the treasurer's report and asked us to remind our fellow members that February 1st is deadline for dues for 2018.
Club Station Manager and Special Events, Tom Lang, K7VOA, reported Jan. 27th is special event Ė Tubac Car Show. Will be held at club station on that Saturday from 9 to 2.
Website Manager, Jon Otto, AD7GS, was absent.
Technical Director Ron Phillips, AA7RP, reported all equipment is in good shape.
Emergency Communications Coordinator Norm Kibby, was introduced as the new coordinator, replacing Dee AD7NM.

Program Director Cliff Philip, N2CDP, introduced the speaker, Barry Webb. He has degrees in Near Eastern Studies and Ancient History. Has served 25 years as an Arabic Language analyst/translator for NSA and other government entitities and has lived and worked and studied a number of years in the Middle East. The book he brought with him tonight is "Confessions of an Ex NSA spy. Why America and its allies are losing the war on terror."
The program was very informative about the Muslim Brotherhood. There was an extensive question and answer period.
Next month's meeting is Richard Rosenthal, retired Boston Police Detective.
