President Dale Lang, AA1SZ, called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm in the SAV meeting room. Dale welcomed 45 members.
Field Day will be June 24 and 25 with Saturday setup at 6 am through Sunday morning. Operations will be similar to past years and Tom K7VOA will have more on this.
Dale called upon the officers for their reports:
Vice President Rudy Sweisfurth, N7COP, talked about DMR (Digital Radio) which he just bought. He suggested the website hoseline.brandmiester will give you lots of information. Also Dale mentioned an article in QST about the subject.
Secretary, Jane Lang AD7NR, greeted all. Minutes and a picture or two are on website under newsletters and look under past events as well.
Treasurer Bob Call, K7RWC, reported the finances. Insurance for club mainly including liability was recently paid.
Club Station Manager and Special Events, Tom Lang, K7VOA, talked about plans for Field Day on June 24 and 25th. Bob Newkirk reported on the night crew which included Lou and their plans for CW. Tom asked for volunteers to set up beam on the roof Jim O., Ric R. Equipment from Gene and Tom and others will start on Saturday the 24th at 6 am. Take down will depend on how the bands are working, but will be finished by 11 or 12 in any case.
Special Event Held in Club Station - Saturday June 17 at 9AM celebrating the 36th anniversary of GVARC. Will end by 1pm.
Field Day Food Co-ordinator , Dee Gross -AD7NM, laid out plans for the days and asked for volunteers to bringing food- donuts for Saturday morning, Oteys bring water and ice, Kibby's table service, Dee will buy fried chicken and others bring side dishes, enough to provide for all and the firemen who come in later. Barb B. and Joanne N. and Dee will set up. 3 boxes of misc. food ware will be given to Inge to take to fire station.
Driveout Coordinator, Gene Shouweiler - W0KAD No drive outs planned at this moment.
Education, Lloyd Miller, N7GV, reported the radio books at the back table were donated to the club. Most are give aways and some are interesting radio books from the 1920's which have a price.
Website Manager, Jon Otto, AD7GS, was away.
Technical Director Ron Phillips, AA7RP, was away.
Emergency Communications Coordinator Dee Gross, AD7NM, no report of this subject at this time.
Old or new business. Bob K3RN, said that the North Hlls radio club in the Pittsburgh area was selling raffle tickets for $10 ticket for a 7300 radio, in order to maintain 5 repeaters.

Snow Bird Net is doing well on Wednesdays at 1 pm on 14.242mhz
Road Cleanup went well on Saturday, May 13.
Program Director Cliff Philip, N2CDP, reported on next months program. Ray Soifer W2RS first transatlantic radio contact 1921 between USA and Scotland.
Tonight's Program Rudy introduced the speaker, Jeff Babcock, who has indeed climbed Denali, Mt. Kinley, in Alaska. The talk was fascinating and full of his experiences in climbing and helping survivors to the various lower camps for safety. He showed many amazing pictures, showing the beauty of Alaska, and the dangers of this activity.
