President Dale Lang, AA1SZ, called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm in the SAV meeting room. Dale greeted 69 members and guests. Among the group was former member John Long who brought Walt, W4KMX to visit, Dale Powers of Ottawa Oregon, Ric NOCN, Randy Walker, KB7MBV, a new member. A special note: Barbara Doehring, a long time family member in the club will continue her membership and we will get to see her. Her dear husband, Don K7DOD, became a silent key in December.
Dale gave thanks to Gene WOKAD and Ken KE7LKY, for the slide show that was on the screen. It had beautiful pictures of mountain views of the 145.29 repeater and the equipment at the site. New mountain road makes it easy to drive up the mountain.Dale announced future events which are listed at bottom of page. Then he turned to the list of officers of the club ----

Treasurer Bob Call, K7RWC, reported the finances. You can mail next year dues ($10 per person or family and it would be good if you added some to that for the repeater fund). Please pay by February 1st. Custom Plus (behind Circle K) will sell you new hats with the Club's logo and your callsign. You can also have your shirt (wash if new) embroidered with the club's logo and your callsign.
Tom Lang, K7VOA, Club Station Manager and Special Events report on January 28, Tubac Car Show in club station. Possible Valentine Day's Ladies event. Yvonne Morris of Titan Missile Museum called Tom to say our transmission cable was dug up by their crew. Tom K7VOA and Ron AA7RP repaired it and expenses paid by the Titan Missile Museum. It is now in pvc pipe and above ground.
Lloyd Miller, N7GV, Education, might be starting a tech class in a month or two. And then a VE exam where anyone can take their license to the next step.
Jon Otto, AD7GS, Website Manager reported GVARC.US had under 1,200 page views from outside the US visit the website. Many countries were listed including Sweden, UK, Canada, Israel Honduras, Trinidad, France and South Africa. January 8th was very busy. Look for events on the website and updated contact page of new officers.
Gene Schouweiler, W0KAD, Drive Out Coordinator reports January 17 at 10 am in Nogales vegetable warehouse tour, Amado Cow Palace for lunch.
Ron Phillips, AA7RP, technical director has purchased a camera and will wire it up on the 149.29 repeater site so all can see the views on the website.
Dee Gross, AD7NM, Emergency Communications Coordinator, introduced John McGee KG7VLJ, our member who is head of Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT). They meet the last Wednesday of the month. Web site is gvfire.org/cert.
