Geocache and Picnic

The February fifteenth Geocache and Picnic went well and no one got lost. Of course, we had the 145.29 repeater for communication and guidance. Depending on the group, some found all or most of the geocaches. Everyone agreed that it was an enjoyable morning outing in warm, sunny Arizona. We could see practically forever from the "Stargazer" geocache on Mt. Hopkins.

They found "Stash 1" geocache which is right in the middle of Green Valley at the coordinates: N 31 53.251 W. 111 00.235. You can drive and park within two hundred feet of the geocache. It would be a great one to show the grandkids or a friend who wants to see geocaching in action.

Geocaching has become an area of interest for members of the Green Valley Amateur Radio Club.
